Couple held for property fraud in Patel Nagar - Times Of India

NEW DELHI: A couple who had tried to grab property worth crores by forging documents has been arrested by Delhi Police. Officials said the husband-wife duo forged the documents to show that they had paid a huge part payment out of Rs 2.89 crore to the seller.

The accused couple, identified as Sandeep Singh Bhatia, 44, and his wife Babbal Kaur, 40, were apprehended following investigations into a complaint filed by one Vinod Kakkar. DCP (crime branch) Ashok Chand said the couple had tried to cheat Kakar of Patel Nagar by buying the ground floor of his house for Rs 2.89 crore. Addl DCP crime branch Sanjay Bhatia said, "They agreed to purchase the ground floor for Rs 2,89 crore and an advance of Rs 30 lakh was paid by them."
