Delhi cooperative societies allowed to allot flats - Yahoo! News:

New Delhi, May 16 (IANS) The Delhi government Monday allowed the allotment of flats by 64 co-operative societies, some of which had come under the scanner of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) due the alleged irregularities in granting memberships.

Delhi Chief Minster Sheila Dikshit said that the government has resolved the complex issue of allotment of flats to the members of such societies.

The government has directed the registrar of cooperative societies to forward the list of members toDelhi Development Authority (DDA) for holding draw of lots and regularise the results of self-draws, subject to certain conditions.

Dikshit hoped that this decision would come as a relief to members awaiting allotment of their flats for a long time as they were facing hardships by paying hefty amounts while living in rented accommodation and paying their loan installments.
