Man held for trying to sell MoD land - Hindustan Times

The Delhi Police have arrested a software professional for trying to open an account in the name of a senior Ministry of Defence (MoD) officer to dupe people by selling them land belonging to the MoD. The accused, identified as Gourav Kumar Singh (28), had submitted a form requesting the officials of the State Bank of India to open a current account in the name of Pradeep Kumar, secretary, MoD. The form had Kumar’s photographs and stamps on it. The bank officials found the documents suspicious and contacted the MoD. The ministry responded that it has not made any such request.

A police complaint was lodged and Singh was arrested. Singh has completed his Master’s in Computer Application (MCA) from Pune University. The police recovered 24 photographs of the secretary, national emblem and other MoD features that had been downloaded from the Internet. Singh had earlier been arrested in a similar case of cheating from Vasant Kunj area of south Delhi.
