GURGAON: The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) will soon come out with detailed guidelines for the allotment of residential plots and commercial booths to land owners whose plots/land have been acquired for developing new sectors in the city.

The new policy is aimed at streamlining the process of awarding compensation that has been decided by the government in all districts in the state. As per the new policy, the oustees will now be required to pay Rs 50,000 at the time of submitting an application for compensation.

These fresh guidelines, accessed by TOI, clarified that Rs 50,000 will be deposited within 30 days of the notice, after the land is acquired by the HUDA. The guidelines have been vetted by the chief administrator of HUDA, DPS Nagal. These district guidelines also state that a zonal committee, headed by the HUDA administrator, which includes an estate officer and a LAO ( Land Acquisition Officer), will determine the eligibility and entitlement of the applications within 60 days of the last date of receipt of the applications. Each applicant (land owners) will be informed about the decision of the zonal committee. The new policy stated that in case the claims are found to be unacceptable by the committee, the land owner can approach the chief administrator regarding compensation.
