Gurgaon sets 15-day deadline for property dealers

Gurgaon sets 15-day deadline for property dealers

The district administration has given property dealers 15 days to acquire proper licences and register themselves, failing which their properties will be sealed.

This follows an order passed by Naresh Gulati, Haryana Finance Commissioner of the Revenue Department, to this effect. Officials said the Haryana Regulation of Property Dealers Consultants Act 2008 came into force in 2009 and, since then, property dealers have been asked time and again to acquire valid licences.

Deputy Commissioner P C Meena said that as per Section 17 of the Act, any person who contravenes the provisions of the Act will be punished with either six months’ imprisonment or a fine up to Rs 10,000 on the first conviction.

The Finance Commissioner said there are as many as 864 registered property dealers in the district.
